WHERE WILL YOU TIP THE SCALE?

As we look at the tumultuous nature of our country questions start to arise. How did we get here? Is it the economy? Is it social media contaminating our ability to differentiate between right and wrong? Is it the news controlling the narrative? One would be inclined to say yes to all of the above. However, these things are only products of a larger issue. Our nation has turned it’s back on God. The needle on the meter for immorality is constantly being advanced. This has raised the threshold on what is considered immoral to an unprecedented level. So often society’s moral compass and the christian moral compass point in opposite directions. It is easy to think “well if everyone else is okay with it maybe I should be” this advances our threshold for immorality. Often times without us even realizing.

If you liken it to telling a lie, the first time we lie it is difficult but each subsequent time becomes easier. The lies become larger and before you know it lying becomes ingrained in ones character. Each time we condone something that is wrong we are conditioning ourselves to sin. This deviation from a christian principality is undermining what it means to be an American. In God We Trust should not merely be something we read on the back of our currency. Instead, it should be way of life we should consider the weight this phrase carries. It is human nature to waiver, but we should strive to never tarry long and to return to the path dictated by the bible. To trust in God is to follow his guidance and remain true to our faith even if it is not the way of the masses.
